Grand Canyon Photos, Medium Format Shots, from a trip July 2-19, 2002 All photos copyright Chuck Pezeshki, 2002. Unauthorized Use is prohibited! Contact Chuck at: pezeshki@wsu.edu or 509-334-6824 for information regarding use. Some background info: All photos on these seven webpages were taken with my Mamiya 7II, with either the 80mm or 150mm lens. Filters used were pretty much limited to a polarizer and an 81A. There are a few action shots, but mostly scenics. Because of the heat and time pressures, there is not a lot of macro work-- more broad landscapes. The heat had withered most of the greenery when we took the trip anyway. The jpegs displayed on the web page are a representation of the negatives (actually transparencies). As is typical of web work, most of the colors are muted and do not capture the real feel of the colors on the film, which is much more vivid. Most of the film shot on this trip was Provia 100F. Many of the pictures were taken from shore, with me packing the camera in my kayak. I used a tripod for the majority of the shots-- hence, most of these will easily blow up to 16"x20" or bigger (24"x30", probably). All the transparencies were scanned on a Nikon 8000 Super Coolscan film scanner. The transparencies are not necessarily arranged in chronological order, though I made an attempt to do so. That work will have to wait for another time. If I have mis-identified a location, please send me an e-mail so that I can correct it! |
